About Tweedsmuir Air

Wilderness Air :: Dick Poet with Bellanca floatplane :: Tweedsmuir Air Services

Early flyer … Dick Poet with Bellanca floatplane at Nimpo Lake

FOUNDED IN 1988, TWEEDSMUIR AIR SERVICES builds on the pioneering spirit of the early flyers who opened up this region of the West Chilcotin in the mid-1950s… Bob Stewart, Dick Poet, Ralph Edwards and others …it is country steeped in history.

We are located near the frontier town of Anahim, British Columbia, some 250 air miles north of Vancouver, BC, and 180 road miles west of Williams Lake. As Nimpo Lake is both a destination and our base of operations, we are within easy flying distance to outdoor adventure that abounds in the vicinity of Tweedsmuir Provincial ParkTurner Lake Chain, Rainbow Mountains, Monarch Icefields, Mackenzie Grease Trail, countless lakes and streams with ample wild trout …and much more!

Duncan Stewart, a ‘second generation’ pioneer who enjoys flying, brings his knowledge and experience of the backcountry surrounding Nimpo Lake to all his customers.

Tweedsmuir Air Services operates a De Havilland Beaver and a Cessna 185 allowing us to accommodate a mix of passengers and gear, matching capacity and range to suit the needs of our customers.

The floatbase at Nimpo Lake not only accommodates our ‘wings’, there is room for customers who ‘fly themselves’ and are in need of support services such as overnight docking, fuel, weather information, etc.

Our pilots are all experienced and knowledgeable of the backcountry… we’ve been flying the West Chilcotin for 25+ years.

We look forward to flying you and yours into the greatest backcountry there is in British Columbia!
